The ADF represents the largest number of parts distributors and suppliers in the independent automotive aftermarket. Widely
recognised as the effective and influential voice of the UK aftermarket, the ADF
has regular contact with government departments such as: the Office of Fair
Trading; Competition Commission; the Department of Trade
& Industry; Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions; Patents
Office; Health & Safety Executive; Advertising Standards Authority; and
more. We also have full representation in Europe through our membership of
CLEDIPA, the European sub-Committee of the International Aftermarket Wholesalers
Association FIGIEFA. The ADF is also a Founder Member of the Automotive Aftermarket Liaison Group (see above link button for further information). The other member associations are: A1 Motor Stores (A1MS), Group Auto Union (GAU), Garage Equipment Association (GEA), Independent Battery Distributors Association (IBDA), Independent Garage Division of the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF), National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) and the Aftermarket Section of the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT). STRENGTHENING A
variety of services are provided to assist members in their business. In
addition the ADF organises seminars and conferences to inform and stimulate
members and their staff.
PROMOTING The
ADF co-operates with other motor trade organisations and general business bodies
such as the CBI. Specialist
sections have been formed to serve the needs of members whose business interests
include commercial vehicle parts distribution and body shop supplies. The
ADF is funded by members' subscriptions and all ADF members receive an annual
report containing an audited set of accounts. Members
are encouraged to become active within the Federation. We hold regular meetings
that attract a good attendance, and enjoy lively discussion on matters of
importance to the trade. Elected
Council members represent members on the ADF Council.
Council members may serve for a maximum of two consecutive three-year
terms. The ADF is moving forward in
the coming years, all sections of our industry need support, guidance and
representation, and the ADF is providing this in an open and democratic manner.
