The Automotive Distribution Federation (ADF) is the UK trade association representing manufacturers, importers and independent wholesale distributors (motor factors) of automotive components and other materials.
The ADF represents over 80 per cent of parts distributors’ and their depots in the independent automotive aftermarket, plus parts manufacturers and importers. Together they offer high quality components, accessories and consumables to garages, service centres, workshops, quick fit and other repair and service outlets across the UK. Widely recognised as the effective and influential voice of the UK aftermarket, the ADF has regular contact with government departments such as: the Office of Fair Trading (OFT); Competition Commission; the Department for Business and Regulatory Reform (DBERR) (formerly the Dept. of Trade & Industry (DTi); Department for Transport (DfT); Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA); UK Intellectual Property Office (formerly the Patents Office); Health & Safety Executive (HSE); Advertising Standards Authority (ASA); and more. We also have full representation in Europe through our membership of the International Aftermarket Wholesalers Association FIGIEFA. The ADF is also a Founder Member of the Automotive Aftermarket Liaison Group.
A variety of services are provided to assist members in their business. In addition the ADF organises seminars and conferences to inform and stimulate members and their staff.
The ADF co-operates with other motor trade organisations and general business bodies such as the CBI, FTA, GEA, RHA, RMIF, SMMT. Specialist sections have been formed to serve the needs of members whose business interests include commercial vehicle parts distribution and body shop supplies.
